Why Face Yoga Method?

Our face is composed of almost 60 muscles. Do you imagine how busy those 60 face muscles are throughout the day when we talk, chew, smile, laugh, frown and kiss? And how often do we pay attention to repetitive facial movements we make each day? The Face Yoga Method is powerful because it makes us aware of our “bad” daily habits, for example, to frown the eyebrows when we are angry or are deeply focusing on something, to contract the forehead when we are talking, to chew food with one side of our mouth, to speak via the phone using one side of the face, or to sleep on the one side of the body.
This method teaches us the proper way to use our facial muscles and exercise them. So if we train our body muscles, why don’t we tone up our facial muscles to avoid facial wrinkles?
By training our facial muscles and the neck, eating healthy and being aware of our daily habits and thoughts, we can save our youthfulness and minimize or decrease the process of aging.

HOW OFTEN DO I HAVE TO DO FACE YOGA EXERCISES?

Have you heard that practice makes perfect? It is ideal to practice Face Yoga exercises 3 times per day.

If that is not possible, train at least in the morning and evening for 5 minutes each time. Remember, it is better to exercise every day rather than a few times throughout the week.

How do your usual mornings look like? Do we rush to the work after the ring of the alarm clock? It is a usual start of a new day. I would recommend starting your day differently. While you are still in bed, you can do some exercises for your face, remove sleepiness, wake your face to meet the new day, be aware of your facial movements throughout the day and after that do everything else during your daily morning routine.

Practice exercises in the evening, before going to bed, when our body gets ready to rest and the cells rejuvenate. Training of the muscles before bed helps to relax the muscles you used during the day and calm down the mind.

We have so many habits and would you like to find out what we could do to become better versions of ourselves. We just have to replace our bad habits with good ones.

The Face Yoga Method is wonderful because you can practice it while driving, cooking, watching TV and even taking the shower. Try to make it a daily habit.

PICTURES BEFORE AND AFTER

Wonderful yoga teacher Dorothy Jackson started face yoga exercises at the age of 62 and achieved amazing results just in 2 months. She did face yoga exercises 3 times per day, increased her water intake, avoided sun exposure and did 100 face splashes. Her face skin condition is definitely healthier; there is less darkness under the eyes, less wrinkles on her mouth area. All these fabulous changes inspire us, don’t they?

Yoshiko Mamada is a 42 year-old tango dancer and a face yoga instructor. She found the Face Yoga Method at the age of 37. At her teens and twenties she suffered from bulimia and acne for a long time. The Face Yoga Method helped her not only to make physical changes, but also experience the mental ones. This is what she says about her physical changes: “the face has become less swollen, I smile much more, both corners of the mouth are much higher than before, eyes have become bigger, droopy face line is gone, there are less wrinkles on my face, acne has reduced, the skin elasticity has increased. Tokyo University of Technology confirmed that my actual age is 42 years, but the age of my skin is 29. There is no feeling of bloodshot and dry eyes, the eyesight has improved and there is less tightness around the shoulders.”

Here are some Before/After photos of Face Yoga Method student pre-exercise, then after holding a pose for 10 seconds, performing three total sets. A thermographic camera has been used to highlight the increases in temperature on this person’s face after performing the sets. As you can see, the warm parts of the face stand out in contrast to the cool parts.
